Focus Areas
Becoming a more sustainable business ourselves, and enabling our clients to do business in more sustainable ways, is a challenge we are tackling every day
Measuring and reporting on our actual
carbon footprint stimulates us to be critical and to constantly adjust our way of doing business in order to be more sustainable. It allows us to set targets and to analyze and implement steps toward sustainability improvements.
At DNV KEMA, we implement sustainability targets in new office buildings. One of the
outstanding examples is the LEED certification of our office in Oakland, California in the U.S. Plans for further sustainable building initiatives are also on the horizon for a number of our European locations.
All corporate operations, such as procurement, waste management and recycling, paper and water treatment, as well as lab operations – especially in the high power laboratories – contribute to a more sustainable company.
External and internal communication accompanies our goals and the processes for achieving them. Moreover, for each focus area policies, checklists and tools have been developed.
Our sustainability report focuses on several topics that are related to environmental aspects such as our
carbon footprint, waste management and procurement processes, and so on. Our report will be published according to the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) standards on sustainability reporting on a voluntary base.
